Fully immersive systems, generically called CAVEs,
create box-shaped images (shown below) that completely
surround the User, creating the most realistic environments
possible with current technology.
Historically, CAVE environments have suffered from
problems such as the precise synchronization of the different
image channels, distortion and image stereoscopy.
To resolve these problems, the installations required
enormously expensive multi-pipe image generators that
required a high initial capital outlay in addition to
punitive on-going maintenance payments.
Now, however, Visionmax offers the perfect substitute
for traditional workstations. Multiple PCs with the latest
graphics cards, working together using the cluster technique,
coupled with the NOVA Infinity visualization software
create the same image effects at a fraction of the price.
Furthermore, Visionmax is hardware independent,
tests all new graphics cards and offers optional hardware
upgrade packages that allow the customer to protect their
investment through the replacement of graphics cards as
the technology improves. |
