International Limited (''VMIL''), a UK-based supplier
of Integrated Multi-Channel Visualization Systems
for Multi-media and 3D Graphics, launched its
new VisionMax CX system at Siggraph 2004 in Los
Angeles. The VisionMax CX System is an Ultra-small
PC Cluster solution that can be scaled from 3
nodes to a maximum of 256 nodes to give customers
display solutions of any size and shape. As with
the LX model, the VisionMax CX is supplied with
proprietary software handles seamless edge-blending,
distortion correction and mono/stereo content
display.
Each node (slave pc) in the VisionMax CX system
measures just 273mm x 360mm x 97mm, which means
that a rack of five channels is no longer than
a standard computer keyboard. With an internal
power requirement of just 220W, the VisionMax
CX is not only space-saving and highly portable,
it is also very economical to use.
At the Siggraph Exhibition, VMIL demonstrated
a five channel system displaying a seamless image
on a 6 meter wide front projection screen. VMIL¡¯s
booth was packed out throughout the exhibition
and it was one of the few products on display
to be showcased on the ¡®Extremetech¡¯ website -
